Stephen Annett

Architectural Technician

Pushing the boundaries of materials, Stephen likes to experiment with the creative possibilities of parametric design. With strong software knowledge and technical ingenuity, he enjoys testing the balance of form and function through 3D printed prototyping, algorithmic and parametric design tools, and scripting his own solutions.

At Foreground, Stephen was instrumental to the design of the award-winning Kooky Cubby for the 2017 Kids Under Cover Cubby House Challenge, which raised $20,000 for the homelessness charity. He has deployed parametric design principles when generating patterned window shading for corrections projects, and in the design of façade systems for the St Hilda’s halls of residence redevelopment. Other project contributions include the Wesley Boatshed and a series of Court Services Victoria regional court security and operational upgrades.

Having studied both architecture and civil engineering, Stephen is known for his interest in how things work, and is often a reliable brains trust in the office for solving systems-based challenges.
