Following a masterplan review of the campus accommodation, the College developed a staging plan to deliver refurbishments to the seven student accommodations on campus. These would be developed outside of university teaching periods to minimise disruption to students and staff.
To date, Foreground has designed improvements across four student accommodation blocks, resulting in modernised student rooms equipped for study and retreat. Responding to a conditions audit by the College, the refurbishments delivered improvements to 50 student rooms and apartments, including new storage, inbuilt joinery including bed, desk, vanity and storage; upgrades to floor and wall finishes and equipment.
The staged student accommodation redevelopment works is one of several commissions undertaken by Foreground Architecture at the College since 2005 including masterplanning, dining hall expansion, student accommodation, learning and amenities development engagements. Our work on campus continues with the redevelopment of Student Residence Block C.
