The Marjorie Oke development is a new $7.5m affordable housing development for Unison, delivering 38 modern, self-contained apartments for women.
Situated in the heart of Fairfield, the project redevelops the former 22-bedroom Victorian heritage rooming house with the addition of a neighbouring four-storey apartment building. The project transforms the rooming house into self contained units, replacing the outdated shared facilities. The redevelopment and expansion modernises the facilities to continue the 100-year history of women’s refuge housing on the site.
Supported by Victorian Government funding, Unison has tasked an experienced team including Reshape Development, Manresa Construction and Foreground Architecture (formerly FMSA Architecture) to deliver the project via a design and construct contract.
